Subaru has announced that its Subaru Impreza STI spec C has gained the 2010 FIA Group N Homologation. This means the Subaru Impreza STI spec C can compete in FIA-approved racing and rallying championships all over the world. The Group N Homologation means the Subaru Impreza STI spec C complies with strict limits on modifications done to the production model in order to be competitive on the track.
The Group N category is generally seen as the one that reflects best the performance inherent to the basic production model. The Subaru Impreza STI spec C is currently available on the Japanese market and features enhanced engine and chassis performance and a lighter body.
The Subaru Impreza STI spec C will have its Group N rally debut in the Rallye Deutschland of Production World Rally Championship on August 22nd, 2010. It will be driven in the event by Toshihiro Arai.
