Subaru revealed recently the WRX STI NR4 Spec, which is set to go on sale in Australia. The Subaru WRX STI NR4 Spec's price starts at $38,000, which includes the GST. Subaru says that the WRX STI NR4 Spec has been homologated by FIA to participate in WRC2 and ERC2. The WRX STI NR4 is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, instead of the standard 2.5-liter powertrain. This engine is available only on the NR4 version of the WRX STI. Subaru says they are currently working with Possum Bourne Motor Sport for developing various optional packages for the WRX STI NR4. These additional packages will help customize the WRX STI NR4 to suite every driver, from the amateur to the professional racer. Subaru says that the Subaru WRX STI NR4 will also be sold as a motorsport version.
This means you won't be able to homologate it for public road use. Upon purchase, you'll have to equip your car with a roll-cage, which is going to be available in Subaru's dealerships.
The Subaru WRX STI NR4 will be available in white and WR Blue.
