Subaru revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon the new WRX STI endurance race car, which is based on the 2015 version of the model. Apparently, the Subaru WRX STI, which made its name in the rally world, is looking to cross over into the endurance racing scene. This WRX STI racer is going to compete in the 2014 Nurburgring 24-Hour Race, which is going to take place between 19 and 22 of June. The WRX STI is going to be driven by Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, as well as two drivers from Europe. In comparison to the standard vehicle, which had its world debut these days at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the WRX STI endurance race car comes with quite a few distinctive features. For starters, it has a new aerodynamic package. It includes wider wheel arches, a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser and splitter, as well as a modified rear wing.

The bonnet shows two additional air vents for cooling the engine bay.

Even though this image does not show it, we're pretty sure that the 2015 Subaru WRX STI endurance race car comes with quite a few interior modifications too. It should feature a roll cage, sport bucket seats, 6-point harnesses, and a few other racing paraphernalia. We'll have more details about this WRX STI racer as soon as they're available.
