Subaru revealed the new Impreza concept less than a month ago at the 2015 LA Auto Show. Apparently, the production version of the new Impreza sedan is not very far away. Various sources are reporting to day that the Japanese carmaker plan to make some serious changes as far the Impreza's high performance version, the WRX STI, is concerned. Apparently, the future Subaru WRX STI is going to be powered by a hybrid powertrain. This new powertrain is going to include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine and an electric motor. The future Subaru WRX STI is going to be equipped with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Rumors say that the future WTX STI is going to be premiered sometime in 2017. The 2017 Subaru WRX STI is expected to develop more than 320 hp and to offer a fuel consumption of less than 6.5 liters per 100 km.

An interesting fact about the 2017 Subaru WRX STI is that the internal combustion engine is going to power the car's front axle, while the electric motor will drive the rear one. We Will have more details about the 2017 WRX STI as soon as they are available.
