BMW has launched its new eco-friendly brand at this year's Geneva auto show, by previewing the first two models: the i3 and the i8. Recently, the BMW i8 was spied during testing in cold weather, together with a range of other Bimmers, some of which could also be new prototypes. The clip was filmed somewhere in Scandinavia and show a camouflaged BMW i8 doing test rounds on the snow.
The BMW i8 is based on the Vision EfficientDynamics concept revealed a while back, and will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Unfortunately, BMW has not yet released any actual details regarding the production version i8. They only announced that the BMW i8 will be produced at their Leipzig
facility, which will create around 800 jobs. As if these are the details we're most concerned about. Anyway, they'll probably give up more on the new BMW i8 in the months to follow.
