Mazda is offering today a preview of the new generation 2012 CX5,which will have its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on Tuesday, 13 September. The 2012 Mazda CX5 is an updated compact crossover SUV which will feature, for the first time, the full range of SKYACTIV technologies. The styling of the 2012 CX5 is inspired by Mazda's KODO – Soul of Motion design language. Mazda will put the new CX5 on sale from early 2012.
The 2012 Mazda CX5 will be sold with both petrol and diesel engines, including the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline unit and the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel unit, which will be available in two power levels: Standard Power and High Power. Mazda says that each engine will offer a 14:1 compression ratio for improved efficiency.
They also say that the 2012 CX5 SKYACTIV-D 2.2 will offer a 120g/km CO2 emissions level.
The 2012 Mazda CX5 will share its IAA stand with one of the company's latest models, the 2012 Mazda3. We'll have more details on Mazda's 2012 CX5 at the time of its premiere, this fall.
