As announced yesterday, Mazda has released the initial details and images of the Mazda Minagi concept vehicle. The Mazda Minagi is a compact crossover SUV concept car which will have its world premiere at the 2011 Geneva motor show, from March 1-13, 2011. As far as its design goes, the Mazda Minagi follows the lines of the company's KODO (Soul of Motion) theme and features the new SKYACTIV technologies. The styling of the Mazda Minagi previews the next generation of models which will be launched by the Japanese carmaker.
The Mazda Minagi promises to offer driving pleasure combined with outstanding environmental and safety performance.
The Mazda Minagi features the carmaker's latest technologies, including a SKYACTIV engine and SKYACTIV transmission fitted to a SKYACTIV-Body and chassis. The Mazda Minagi's new chassis offers a low weight while ensuring high levels of safety.
The Mazda Minagi concept represents the base platform for the future Mazda CX5, a mid-size SUV which will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan. The production version of the Mazda Minagi could even go up-market in the region of the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5.

Officially titled the 81e Salon International de l'Auto de Genève, the show's press days are March
1 and 2, and the public days are March 3-13, 2011. Mazda will hold a press conference on Tuesday, March 1.
