Chrysler released today the first two teaser images of the new generation 2013 Dodge Dart. "A compact sedan for the 21st century" as they call it, the 2013 Dodge Dart will have its world debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January 2012. Dodge's 2013 Dart will probably go on sale soon after. Dodge developed the 2013 Dart on a platform provided by the company's European partner, Fiat. In fact the 2013 Dart has the same architecture as the stylish Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Judging from these teaser images, we have to day that the new Dodge Dart will have a much more aggressive appearance than the Giulietta.

Dodge promises that the 2013 Dart will offer its customers "agility and safety, with exceptional driving dynamics".

Even though the specifications of the 2013 Dart will be announced at a later date, Dodge does mention that the new model will benefit from Fiat's MultiAir engine technology. This new piece of kit reduces the car's fuel consumption, while improving its performance. Dodge's official specs say that MultiAir technology increases torque by 15%, reduces fuel consumption by 7.5% and decreases CO2 emissions by 10%. The 2013 Dodge Dart will be equipped with an independent suspension system for all four 18-inch wheels.

We'll have more details on the Dodge Dart 2013 as soon as they're available.
