Peugeot unveiled today the new 301 (2013), which is a mid-size four-door sedan that aims to be both accessible and to offer status. This is not the first time Peugeot has used the 301 name. The original Peugeot 301 was built between 1932 and 1936, but that was a different age. The current Peugeot 301 (2013) is meant to become the carmaker's best selling vehicle worldwide. The problem with these high volume cars is that in the process of trying to make everybody happy, they tend to lose personality and charisma. The 2013 Peugeot 301 wants to please everyone. It was developed to work just as well in hot or cold climates, and to cope well with poor roads. It has a boot large enough to fit your every need (506 liters), and space in the back for both your in-laws.

Peugeot advertises that the new 301 offers a high level of comfort, and safe handling. That usually means it will understeer like you've never seen before. However, the 301 does offer today's basic safety systems, like ABS, ESP and as much as four airbags.

The engines offered on the new 301 range include a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol developing 72 hp, a 1.6-liter HDi diesel with 92 bhp and a 1.6-liter VTi developing 115 bhp. The equipment list of the 2013 Peugeot 301 includes air conditioning, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and rear parking assistance. The world debut of the 2013 Peugeot 301 will take place at the 2012 Paris Auto Show this September. The new 301 will probably go on sale soon after.
