After all the leaked images and videos, Volvo finally decided to make it official and revealed the new 2013 Volvo V40. The V40's debut is scheduled to take place at the 2012 Geneva auto show, which starts next week. So far, Volvo did not divulge its price and launch date, but we're sure it will be available in showrooms in the near future. The 2013 Volvo V40 promises to offer Scandinavian luxury look and feel in a human-centric package. Expect to find Volvo's entire range of engines in the specifications of the new V40 (2013). Volvo says that the 2012 V40 will be available with all its powertrains, from its entry-level diesel (94 g/km CO2) to the powerful T5 (254 hp). When equipped with the T5 engine, Volvo's new V40 (2013) is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.7 seconds.

This is pretty decent for a car in its class.

The new Volvo V40 (2013) also comes with a range of environment friendly technologies, such as a start-stop system and braking energy regeneration. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be available.

As always, Volvo has been especially concerned about the safety of the 2013 V40.

The model comes equipped with Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake, Lane Keeping Aid with haptic auto steering and a parking assist system. Volvo also equipped the 2013 V40 with a world-first pedestrian airbag. While driving in the city (or at speeds of up to 31 mph), the V40 (2013) can make use of its City Safety low-speed collision avoidance system.

Even though Volvo is keeping the specifications of the 2013 V40 a secret at the moment, we're sure they'll disclose more details in the near future.
