The production version of the 2014 Acura MDX concept had its world debut in New York at the 2013 auto show. The 2014 Acura MDX is powered by a newly developed 24-valve 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine with direct injection and Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) that develops 290 hp and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine of the new Acura MDX (2014) is coupled with 6-speed automatic transmission with Sport Mode and Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters. Acura is going to sell the 2014 MDX with either a two-wheel-drive system or the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. Both versions come with Agile Handling Assist technology. Unfortunately, Acura did not disclose the 0-60 mph acceleration time of the new MDX (2014). They're also keeping its top speed secret.

However, they do mention that the 2014 MDX is going to offer an 18/27/21 mpg (city/highway/combined) fuel economy (AWD) or a 20/28/23 mpg (city/highway/combined) fuel consumption (2WD).

The 2014 Acura MDX AWD comes with the Integrated Dynamic System (IDS) that has three settings for the steering effort, throttle response, SH-AWD and active sound: Sport, Normal and Comfort. For the 2014 MDX, Acura is offering Amplitude Reactive Dampers, a MacPherson strut front suspension, a new multi-link rear suspension, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Apart from the obvious exterior design changes, we have to mention that the new Acura MDX (2014) measures 193.6 inches in length, 77.2 inches in width, and 67.6 inches in height. It has a 111-inch wheelbase and it's 275 pounds lighter than its predecessor. The new 2014 MDX comes with the Active Noise Control technology that reduces the noise in the cabin with the help of acoustic glass and expanding body sealers.

At the interior, the 2014 MDX features a third row of seats that offer better access to them via the One-Touch Walk-In feature. ITs equipment list also includes a 10-way power adjustable and heated driver's seat and an 8-way power and heated passenger seat.
