Acura revealed at this year's North American International Auto Show the new 2014 MDX Concept, which, even though it's called a prototype, is very close to the SUV's production form. The 2014 Acura MDX 7-passenger SUV is going to be launched towards the middle of this year, but its price has not been disclosed yet. Acura has completely redesigned the MDX for 2014, giving it an elegant and premium appearance. It now features the Acura Jewel Eye LED headlights. It's also 16% more aerodynamic than its predecessor. the 2014 MDX's roof sits 1.5 inches lower than the one of the its predecessor, but it has a longer wheelbase to compensate and offer enough leg room. The future Acura MDX (2014) is going to be offered with a front-wheel-drive system, in addition to the classic SH-AWD all-wheel drive model.

The new Acura MDX (2014) is going to be powered 3.5-liter i-VTEC SOHC V6 engine that has direct injection and Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). Even though Acura did not disclose the output of this V6 engine, the carmaker does mention it's going to offer more power and torque, as well as improved efficiency.

Acura will equip the 2014 MDX with many safety systems, such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW), a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, Blind Spot Information (BSI), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow.
