The 2015 Acura TLX concept, which previews the future production model, had its world debut today at the 2014 North American International Auto Show. The new 2015 Acura TLX measures 190.2 inches in length, which is 3.8 inches less than the TL. It has a 109.3 inch wheelbase. Acura is going to sell the TLX with a choice between a front-wheel-drive and an AWD system. As you can imagine, the TLX will be equipped with Acura's Super-Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system and Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS). The Acura TLX is going to be available with a 2.4-liter 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine with direct-injection and an i-VTEC valvetrain, and an 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) with torque converter.
Acura will also sell the TLX with a larger 3.5-liter SOHC V6 with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) that's mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The Acura TLX is going to be equipped with an Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) that offers four driving modes: ECON (Economy), Normal, Sport, and a new Sport+. The equipment list of the Acura TLX includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow and Blind Spot Indicator (BSI).
The 2015 Acura TLX's price is going to be announced at a later date.
