2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Announced

 »  »  »

Chevrolet officially announced today that the world debut of the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible is going to take place at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of March. Chevrolet says about the convertible version of the new Corvette Stingray (2014) that it's going to offer the same balance, design and performance as the coupe version. Usually, convertible versions are a bit heavier than the coupes, so we're not really sure if the open-top 2014 Corvette Stingray will be able to match its hard-top sibling's performance and balance. As you can imagine, Chevy did not disclose any details regarding the 2014 Corvette convertible. However, we can make a few speculations.

For starters, we're pretty sure that the new Corvette convertible (2014) is going to have the same engine as the coupe. This means it's going to hide under its hood a 6.2-liter V8 engine that will send 450 hp and 610 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. In terms of performance, it will probably get to 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 4 seconds.

We'll have more details about the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible as soon as they're available.
