Callaway Corvette C7 GT3 Announced

 »  »  »

The German specialists from Callaway revealed today their plans to convert the new 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray into a full-fledged GT3 racer. They haven't released any details about the car, as they were waiting for Chevrolet's approval to submit the new GT3 Corvette Stingray for FIA homologation. Apparently, Chevy approved their request. Callaway has just become the "appointed specialist representative for building and holding the homologation of the Corvette C7 FIA GT3 race cars." Callaway is also "responsible" for the C6 GT3 Corvettes, so they have a bit of experience there. I actually had the chance to watch them win with more than one lap ahead of the competition. Unfortunately, Callaway released just two tiny photos of their new GT3 Corvette Stingray.

We can't say much about the new race car, except that it has a pretty sick aero pack. It includes a new front spoiler, wider fenders, obviously, side skirts, and a rear diffuser and wing that could stop the moon from spinning. We also have to mention the side exhaust pipes.

We'll have more details about the new Corvette Stingray GT3 as soon as Callaway makes them available.
