Audi released today the first commercial for the new R8 GT Spyder, offering 2 minutes of pure, awesome action on the track. The GT Spyder is a limited edition version of Audi's R8, which is lighter and more powerful than the standard model. It's powered by a the 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine that's been tuned to develop 560 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The extra power of the Audi R8 GT Spyder comes from several upgrades, including dry-sump lubrication and an update direct injection system. Audi equips the R8 GT Spyder with a limited slip differential, the R tronic 6-speed automatic gearbox and the quattro all-wheel-drive system.
The official specifications say that the Audi R8 GT Spyder is able to get from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds and that it can reach a maximum speed of 196.97 mph (317 km/h).
If you'd like to have fun in an R8 GT Spyder, Audi will sell one to you for "just" 207,800 EUR. they also say that only 333 of them will be built, so better hurry.
