Audi released recently the first presentation video for the R8 GT Spyder - a very special model and unique model, which will be sold in 333 units only. Priced at 207,800 EUR, the Audi R8 GT Spyder is lighter than the regular open-top R8, and it has some extra umpf too. To power the R8 GT Spyder, Audi uses the same 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine, which has been re-calibrated, and it now develops 560 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The engine of the R8 GT Spyder sends its power to all four wheels via a six-speed R tronic automatic transmission. Even though the R8 GT Spyder is all-wheel-drive, its quattro drive system has a strong rear-wheel-drive bias.
Audi's new supercar is 85 kg lighter than the standard R8 Spyder, thanks to several body parts
which are now made from carbon fiber and to the light weight sport bucket seats.
The Audi R8 GT Spyder has a top speed of 196.97 mph (317 km/h) and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds.
