Instead of releasing a simple review video of the new Audi R8 GT, the British journalists from EVO Magazine put it against its racing version, the R8 LMS. the Audi R8 LMS is full-blown, GT3 homologated, race car, that has already proved itself in the Nurburgring 24 Hours race. The comparison test takes place on the race track, so the R8 LMS should be considerably faster than the street legal R8 GT. However, the R8 GT is more powerful and 100 kg lighter than the standard R8, so the outcome of this race could be a bit of a surprise.
The Audi R8 GT is based on the 5.2-liter V10 FSI version of the supercar, which has received some extra power, for a total of 560 hp and 540 Nm (398.28 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Audi claims that the r8 GT is able to 'teleport' itself from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. they also say it can reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h.
