Citroen C Elysee WTCC

Citroen revealed this week their new World Touring Car Championship race car - the C-Elysee WTCC. The world debut of the Citroen C-Elysee WTCC is going to take place at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show in September, which means that you'll be able to see Citroen's new racer in action in the 2014 season of the championship. WTCC prepare yourself! The Citroen C-Elysee WTCC is going to be driven by rally magician Sebastien Loeb. The WTCC C-Elysee is Citroen's first vehicle to comply with FIA's new regulations for its category. Here are some technical goodies. The Citroen C-Elysee WTCC is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection that develops 380bhp at 6,000rpm at 400Nm at 4,500rpm. The weight of the car, including the driver, is 1,100kg.

The traction comes from the front wheels and the power is being delivered through a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission and a mechanical self-locking differential.

The optimized aerodynamics of the WTCC C-Elysee include a new front bumper and splitter, wider wheel arches, side skirts, a modified rear bumper with a huge rear splitter, and a massive rear wing. Even though Citroen did not release any images of the WTCC C-Elysee's interior, we can assume that there's a sport bucket seat in there, a full roll cage, and all the other racing equipment required by the FIA.

Currently, Citroen has started testing the C-Elysee WTCC.
