General Motors has announced that the Corvette C7 will be ready for production in 2012 and will be launched as a 2013 model. The details of the Corvette C7 are very scarce, but we do know the new model will have a front-engine rear-wheel-drive layout despite rumors saying it will be mid-engine.
The Corvette C7 is expected to be more advanced than the current C6, lighter and probably more powerful. As far as the styling goes, most sources suggest the Corvette C7 will borrow a number of lines from the Stingray Concept which was introduced at Chicago Auto Show. If it looks familiar is because the car was also featured in the Transformers 2 movie.
The Corvette C7 is expected to output around 450 hp and to be priced in the 35,000 USD - 45,000 USD range.
