Fiat introduced at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show the new 124 Spider. The Fiat 124 Spider is based on the new Mazda MX5, but it features a completely redesigned body and interior. To power the Fiat 124 Spider, they chose an in-line 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 160 hp and 249 Nm of torque. The engine of the Fiat 124 Spider is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed automatic and a rear-wheel-drive system. Unfortunately, Fiat did not disclose the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of the 124 Spider, nor its top speed. The new Fiat 124 features a double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear one for a pleasant and fun driving experience.
The Fiat 124 Spider comes with a retractable fabric roof, round headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, rectangular LED rear lights and a bespoke sport exhaust system with two tailpipes. At the interior, the 124 Spider comes with the Fiat Connect 7.0 infotainment system, a leather upholstery and a sport steering wheel. The Fiat 124 Spider's price list has not been disclose yet, but the Italian carmaker says it will go on sale next summer.
