The popular British TV show Fifth Gear released today a review video of the new Honda CR-Z Mugen - a performance version of the Japanese hybrid. This particular Mugen CR-Z they tested is actually a prototype, and not the production car. This is why it costs 150,000 GBP. Can you even imagine a 150,000 GBP Honda? Honda premiered the new CR-Z Mugen at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed and they will soon put it on sale. The price of the Mugen CR-Z will be announced at a later date.
The Honda CR-Z Mugen has quite a large number of modifications in comparison to the standard car. It has the same hybrid system, featuring 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine coupled with an electric motor, but its output has been increased
to 200 PS and 181 lb.ft of torque. The Mugen version of Honda's CR-Z is 50 kg lighter than the regular version, it has a wider track, 5-step adjustable dampers, bigger brakes and Recaro bucket seats. To show they mean business, Mugen also fitted their CR-Z with a new and more aggressive aerodynamic package. Mostly, the new kit consists of a large rear wing, new bumpers and side skirts.
