Honda UK and MUGEN Euro announced today the launch of the Honda CR-Z iCF, which is based on the CR-Z MUGEN. Honda's new hot hybrid hatch, the CR-Z iCF, is powered by a 1.5-litre engine which outputs 50% more power than the standard model. This means that the new CR-Z iCF Mugen develops 175 PS. To get the extra hp out of the small powerplant of the CR-Z iCF, Honda's engineers installed a centrifugal forced air induction system, and a charge-air cooler and induction system. The CR-Z iCF also received a fresh new ECU developed by Mugen.

The Honda CR-Z iCF is rated with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 6.1 seconds. This is a full three seconds faster than the regular version of the small 3-door hybrid.

The Honda CR-Z iCF price has not been decided upon yet, but Mugen believes it will be set at around £24,000 GBP. Honda will offer the new CR-Z iCF for drive tests starting from the spring of 2012.
