Honda CR Z Mugen

Honda released today the first real life images of the CR-Z Mugen, the high performance version of the hybrid coupe. Honda says the new Mugen CR-Z is able to offer roughly the same 0 to 60 mph acceleration time as the Civic Type R, which sounds quite promising. The Mugen CR-Z comes with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine developing 200 PS and 181 lb.ft of torque and is 50 kg lighter than the standard version.

The Honda CR-Z Mugen is able to run in the 'eco' mode, in which case has a 50 mpg fuel consumption, or in the 'MUGEN' mode, which brings the fuel economy down to 30 mpg. The MUGRN mode practically puts the supercharger to work, offering the extra horsepower, while sipping more fuel.

Apart from the extra umpf, Mugen's Honda CR-Z also features 5-step adjustable dampers and a wider track for better stability in the corners.

Honda did not announce the price of the CR-Z Mugen, but it does say it will premiere it in July, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
