Lotus C 01 Bike Announced

 »  »  »

Lotus announced over the weekend that they have established a new company called Lotus Motorcycles, which is going to develop the brand's first bike called the C-01. The Lotus C-01 bike is going to be developed in collaboration with Kodewa, car designer Daniel Simon and the Holzer Group. Lotus says that the C-01 will be a hyper bike with integrated racing technology. The C-01 will be built with such materials as carbon, titanium and aerospace quality steel. Lotus expects to power the C-01 with a 200 horsepower engine. To get an idea about the Lotus C-01's design, we have to mention that Daniel Simon is "responsible" for designing the Lightcycle used in the 'Tron: Legacy' movie. Apparently, the inspiration for the C-01's design comes from the Lotus 49.

As you're probably expecting, the C-01's livery will include black and gold.

Lotus says they're going to release images and details of the C-01 motorcycle in the following weeks. Until then, this helmet photo will have to do.
