VW has released yesterday a set of new Volkswagen Passat R36 photos, available after the jump. The Volkswagen Passat R36 is powered by a 3.6 liter six cylinder direct injection gasoline engine that outputs 220 kW / 300 hp. The transmission of the Volkswagen Passat R36 is handled by a direct shift gearbox (DSG) and permanent four-wheel drive (4MOTION). With this powertrain the top speed of the Volkswagen Passat R36 is electronically limited to 250 km/h and the o to 100 km/h acceleration time is 5.6 seconds (5.8 seconds for the Variant).
The special features of the Volkswagen Passat R36 include in the front section: an R-specific bumper and a crest radiator grill in matte chrome finish, dual fins on the upper radiator grill and
the radiator air inlets in slatted look.
The rear of the Volkswagen Passat R36 sedan features a newly designed spoiler, chrome dual exhaust pipes and 18-inch Omanyt alloy wheels.
