Pogea Racing, an aftermarket specialists from Germany, revealed today a very special, customized, 1959 Chevrolet Corvette. Pogea spent a whole year fitting the '59 classic with all the technology you would expect to find in a modern day vehicle. The 1959 Corvette's engine, brakes and interior have been modified to fit present day expectations. The tube frame chassis of the Pogea Corvette was developed in collaboration with Foose Design. It offers increased stiffness and all the mounting points for the convertible's height adjustable coilover suspension and brakes.

The Pogea Corvette is powered by a 6.2-litre LS3 engine, which features LS7 fuel injectors, new camshafts and a direct, open intake with a tip cone filter.

Pogea's '59 Corvette also comes with 45-mm diameter Edelbrock exhaust manifolds, and a stainless steel exhaust system with two tailpipes. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with a ceramic clutch and a Dana 44 differential. Pogea rates the new 1959 Corvette at 485 hp / 357 kW at 4400 rpm and 585 of torque Nm at 6200 rpm.

In terms of performance, the new Pogea Corvette is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in an amazing 3.9 seconds and it can reach a tops peed of 288 km/h.

Other upgrades include LS5 brakes, 18- and 19-inch light alloy wheels. To be able to fir the large wheel at the rear, Pogea had to give their new Corvette a wider rear end (2.09 meters). The car also features LED taillights and a red and white exterior finish.

For the interior of the 1959 Corvette, Pogea used leather upholstery, a Vallelunga steering wheel and seats taken from a Cobra. Of course, the new Corvette also features an Alpine multi-media system with satnav, and servo-steering.

The price of the Pogea Corvette is set at 225,000 EUR, including VAT.
