In the latest episode of Fifth Gear, TV presenter and touring car champion Jason Plato, reviews the new Porsche Cayman R. Plato tests the Porsche Cayman R on the race track and offers various insights on how the car feels to drive. The Cayman R is 65 kg lighter than the Porsche's S model, which is quite a significant drop in weight. The power comes from the 3.4-litre six-cylinder engine which was tuned to output 330 hp and mated to a PDK gearbox. Porsche will also sell you the Cayman R with a six-speed manual transmission.
The Porsche Cayman R, when, equipped with the PDK and the Sport Chrono package, is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.7 seconds.
Porsche says that the Cayman R is able to reach a top speed of 175 mph, or 282 km/h.
The Cayman R is priced in Europe at 69,830 EUR, which is not that much more than the S.
