RAD (Rezvani Automotive Designs) announced recently that their 2.7-second BEAST, that actually the name of the car, is going to be launched sometime this summer. At this point you're probably imagining that the RAD BEAST has a monster engine under its hood. Well, you would be wrong. The RAD BEAST is going to be available with a choice between two engines: a 2.0-liter and a 2.4-liter. The RAD BEAST 300 (the 2.0-liter) develops 315 hp, and thanks to a weight of just 1,550 lb, it can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The 2.4-liter BEAST develops 500 hp and it can reach the same speed in a staggering 2.7 seconds! Their top speed has not been disclosed yet. The RAD BEAST comes with a fully removable windshield, a roll cage, and a set of RS05 PUR wheels measuring 235/35/19 at the front and rear 295/30/19 at the rear.

Both supercars have a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive architecture. The RAD BEAST 500 comes with a twin-charged four-cylinder engine, and a six-speed manual transmission. RAD builds their BEAST on an Ariel Atom platform. RAD says that the engines of their supercars are developed by the same specialists used by Ariel, DDM Works of South Carolina.

The RAD BEAST's price starts at $99,500 USD for the 300 version and it goes up to $124,900 USD for the 500 model. These are the launch editions. You can upgrade your Ariel Atom to the RAD BEAST for $49,000 (the 300) and $69,000 (the 500).
