SsangYong released today three teaser images of the Concept XUV 1, which they'll premiere at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Auto show next month. The SsangYong XUV 1 is a compact crossover concept, designed to be a moving communication space. SsangYong says that the XUV 1 looks imposing, without being aggressive, and that it has extensive glass areas. We'll have to take their word for it, since the images do not show much. SsangYong fitted the XUV 1 concept with a wraparound windscreen that extends the glass area to the C-pillars and a full length glass roof. The SsangYong Concept XUV 1 also features coach style doors for easy access.

SsangYong introduces the 1+1+2 and 1+3 seating layouts with the help of the XUV 1 concept.

They're aim is to challenge conventional cabin design and to show the XUV 1 concept's versatility.

Are wondering how did they come up with the XUV name? SsangYong says it means Excellent User Interface Vehicle 1. Apparently, all the major cabin functions of the XUV 1 are controlled via mobile devices.

We'll have more details on the XUV 1 concept as soon as SsangYong makes them available.
