SsangYong revealed their latest concept, the e-XIV, at the 2012 Paris auto show. The SsangYong e-XIV is a crossover utility vehicle from the B segment, which measures 4,160 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height. With the e-XIV, SsangYong aims to develop an environmentally-friendly vehicle, which is able to run on electricity and alternative energy. For this, the e-XIV features glass roof, which integrates a 12 solar cell panel that generates the energy required by the car's auxiliary systems. The interior of the SsangYong e-XIV features four bucker seats, which can be moved to create various seating configurations. SsangYong's e-XIV also features an innovative instrument cluster that's able to communicate with the driver through dynamic graphics.

The SsangYong e-XIV is powered by an 80-kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), that's able to offer a maximum range of 80km. The CUV's 16-kWh lithium-ion battery requires four hour to fully recharge. The e-XIV also comes with a 1.0-liter two cylinder range extender engine, which emits 45g/km of CO2. With the range extender engine on, the e-XIV can run for up to 600 km.
