Apart from the production version of the SUT-1, SsangYong also revealed today in Frankfurt their latest concept, called the XIV-1. The SsangYong XIV-1 concept previews a future crossover model, for the B-segment of SUVs, which aims to affordable and addresses the small family part of the market. SsangYong's XIV-1 concept measures 4,140 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,590 mm in height and has a 2,600 mm wheelbase. The production version of the SsangYong XIV-1 will be available with a choice between two 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engines, one diesel and one petrol. Both engines of the XIV-1 will be available with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission, and with a two-wheel-drive or a 4WD system.

In terms of exterior design, SsangYong gave the XIV-1 a few unique elements. The new concept features a continuous glass area, together with a huge glass sunroof, LED headlights and coach doors. Because the XIV-1 has rear opening doors, it does not need a B-pillar, which offers a unique visual effect.

For the interior of their XIV-1, SsangYong developed a new type of seats, which can be rotated 360 degrees. The new crossover concept also has aluminum dials and a symmetrical instrument panel.

SsangYong also equipped their new XIV-1 with an innovative technology, which enables the driver to control several of its features via Smartphone.

The exact ate on which the SsangYong XIV-1 will go intro production was announced.
