The first image of the Alpine Renault A110-50 leaked today, ahead of the concept's debut, which will take place at the Monaco Grand Prix this Friday. The Alpine Renault A110-50 is based on the Megane Trophy and it's powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, mounted in the middle. The output of the A110-50 is rated at around 400 hp. don't expect the A110-50 to go into production. Apparently, the French carmaker built it to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Alpine Renault A110 Berlinetta. The original Renault A110 was first launched back in 1961, and it stayed into production up until 1977. The A110 Berlinetta managed to win the inaugural World Rally Championship in 1973.

Some sources believe that the Alpine Renault A110-50 concept previews a future mid-engined sports car. But knowing Renault, the production vehicle will look nowhere near as good as the vehicle we see in this image. The output of the Renault A110-50's production version will also be lower. Our sources report that it will be around 300 hp.
