Aston Martin released today the first image of the actual V12 Zagato race car that will debut during the 2011 Nurburgring 24 hour race. The event will take place next weekend and it will be the first chance of seeing the Aston V12 Zagato race car live. Dr. Ulrich Bez, Aston's CEO, says an endurance race is the ultimate test for a vehicle, which is why the ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup VLN race was chosen for its debut. Dr. Bez also confirmed that Aston's new V12 Zagato will go into limited production.

The Aston Martin V12 Zagato was revealed a week ago during the Villa D'Este Concours. The only difference we can spot between the Concours cars the actual racer is the huge wing on its tail. The Aston V12 Zagato is powered by a

6.0-liter engine developing 510 bhp and 570 Nm of torque. It comes with a competition clutch, a limited slip diff and a 6-speed automated manual transmission. It's performance figures have not been revealed yet.

We'll have more details on Aston's new Zagato V12, including pricing and performance figures, at a later date.
