According to the British press, Fifth Gear, the main competitor of the automotive show Top Gear, is at its end. apparently, the last season of Fifth Gear attracted around one million viewers which forced channel Five to cancel it. The information has been confirmed by Vicki Butler-Henderson, one of the main hosts of Fifth Gear.
An inside source said the end of Fifth Gear was not dictated by budget cuts, but by the fact the show did not make it into the top 30 most watched shows on channel Five. This had a negative impact on the advertising revenue of the show.
Fifth Gear was launched seven years ago and since then it has constantly takes presenters from its competitors, Top Gear, including Vicki.
Channel Five says Fifth Gear was a great show, but time has come to try something new.
