GIBBS Quadski Amphibious ATV

 »  »  »

The GIBBS Quadski is probably the world's first high-speed amphibious ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) in the world. It measures 10.5 feet in length, 5.2 feet in width, 4.3 feet in height and it has a 5.8 feet wheelbase. The GIBBS Quadski is able to reach a stop speed of 45 mph on both land and water, thanks to a 175 hp BMW engine / transmission taken from a motorcycle. This four-cylinder, water-cooled engine features electronic fuel injection, a double-overhead camshaft and dry-sump lubrication. At a press of a button, the GIBBS Quadski is able to retract its wheels when entering the water and to deploy them when reaching land. This transition takes around 5 seconds. The GIBBS Quadski weighs 1,300 pounds and it comes with a 15-gallon fuel tank.

The first version of the GIBBS Quadski is able to carry just one person and it's priced at around $40,000. GIBBS says it's going to put the Quadski on sale this November.
