Even though the C-X16 is still a concept, Jaguar released its first commercial C-X16, which they call a launch film. The clip presents the elements that inspired the design of the C-X16, which is currently on display at the 2011 IAA auto show in Frankfurt. Jaguar calls the C-X16 a "production concept", which means it will definitely go into production, more or less in the current form. Jag's new coupe is also the first example of the brand's new design language. This means that all future Jags will feature styling elements seen on the C-X16.
The Jaguar C-X16 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine equipped with surcharging, which sends 380 PS and 450 Nm of torque to the car's rear wheels. The C-X16 is also equipped with a Formula 1 style
electric motor, which comes into action when extra power is needed. This motor gives the C-X16 an additional 94 hp and 235 Nm of torque.
