Lamborghini LB736 Crossover Leaked

 »  »  »

Lamborghini's first attempt at building an SUV - the LM002 - went out of production in 1993 after being built in just 328 units. Rumors saying that Lamborghini is developing a new crossover have always been surfacing here and there since 1993, but they have never been so abundant as these days. Lately, an Italian car magazine published a few renderings of what they claim to be Lambo's new crossover / SUV / 4x4. Unfortunately, we don't have a name yet, but we do have an internal codename: LB736.

The exact details of the Lamborghini LB736's engine are still a mystery, but there are a few speculations. Some believe it will be powered by the same 5.2-liter V10 engine (575 hp) as the Gallardo.

Others say that an efficient V8 is also taken into consideration. Some rumors go as far as saying the new crossover Lamborghini LB736 is going to have a hybrid powertrain, which will raise its output to an amazing 700 hp! With this kind of power, Lamborghini's SUV will basically have no competition whatsoever. None of the current high performance SUVs (Porsche Cayenne Turbo, BMW X5M / X6M, Mercedes ML673 AMG) are able to match this kind of output.

Apparently, the Lambo's new SUV will be based on the Porsche Cayenne, but it will be styled based on the new Aventador.

We'll have more details on the Lamborghini LB736 Crossover as soon as they're available.
