Toyota announced today that it will premiere the GRMN Sports Hybrid Concept II at this year's 39th Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race, which will take place next weekend. The Toyota GRMN, or GAZOO Racing tuned by MN (Meister of Nurburgring), wears the nickname of Hiromu Naruse (1944-2010), a TMC test driver and chief of the team. The Toyota GRMN is a mid-engined petrol-electric hybrid convertible concept measuring 4,350 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,200 mm in height and with a 2,575 mm wheelbase.

Toyota's GRMN is powered by a hybrid drivetrain featuring an electric motor in the front and a 3.5-liter (3,456 cc) petrol engine in the middle. The combustion engine's output is rated at 245 bhp and the total output of the GRMN hybrid Toyota concept is rated at 295 hp.

The concept weighs less than 1,500 kg.

The Toyota GRMN Hybrid Concept II is an updated version of the vehicle shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2010. It features new styling, and an improved sports-hybrid AWD system. Toyota's second GRMN Hybrid concept uses the petrol engine to power the rear wheels, while the front axle gets its juice from the electric motor.

We'll have more details on the Toyota GRMN hybrid concept as soon as they're available.
