After the spy images taken a few weeks back on the Nurburgring, today, new details of the 2013 Volkswagen Golf 7 have surfaced the web. The British press believes the Volkswagen Golf 7 will be a great success for the German brand, as it's truly a new generation Golf. The MkVI was built on the same platform as the MkV while the Volkswagen Golf 7 will be built on a completely new platform.

The Volkswagen Golf 7 will have a lightweight construction with more efficient engines and an even more desirable look. The Volkswagen Golf 7 is expected to give birth to a new range of versions, including the soft-top convertible and a four-door coupe.

The front fascia of the Volkswagen Golf 7 will most probably be influenced by the VW Compact Coupe concept unveiled at the beginning of the year. The Volkswagen Golf 7 will borrow the headlight design, the LED daytime running lights and front grille.

The Volkswagen Golf 7 will offer the choice of a range of diesel and petrol turbo engines, with three and four cylinders. There will also be a Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI and probably a more powerful R version, as VW's new performance division needs to work. The Volkswagen Golf 7 will also be offered

as a BlueMotion diesel with CO2 emissions level below the 100 g/km mark and with 80mpg fuel consumption.

The Volkswagen Golf 7 is expected to hit the dealerships in 2012.
