The Volkswagen Golf TwinDrive has been presented today Dr. Martin Winterkorn, chairman of Volkswagen AG, at an automotive forum in Berlin. The Volkswagen Golf TwinDrive is the result of a cooperation between VW and the German government and features a new electric propulsion system. The Volkswagen Golf TwinDrive has zero emissions and can be fueled at any electrical outlet.
The aim of the Volkswagen Golf TwinDrive project is to fleet test the new vehicle that is capable of running for around 50 km on a single charge.
VW will test 20 units of the Volkswagen Golf TwinDrive with the goal of putting it into production by year 2010.
