Over the weekend, BMW premiered the new 328 Hommage concept to celebrate 75 years that passed since the classic model hit the market for the first time. The original BMW 328 was considered the most successful and best-looking sports car of the 1930s. The new BMW 328 Hommage was premiered at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
BMW's new 328 Hommage features a lightweight construction, weighing just 780 kilograms. Most of its interior and exterior parts are made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The interior of the 328 Hommage is made using fine leather, matt and high-gloss black polished aluminum and carbon fiber.
In terms of design, BMW's 328 Hommage concept is a collection of classic styling cues, inspired by the company's earliest models. Its vertically positioned double kidney front grille, the flat silhouette and its rear end are all inspired by some of BMW's earliest vehicles.
BMW did not release any details regarding the engine of the 328 Hommage nor any other technical specification. Maybe they will be released in the following months. At this point, it's not known whether or not the BMW 328 Hommage will make it into production.
