The first rumors and spy images and videos of the Mercedes SLS AMG roadster started to surface over a year ago and still, Daimler has not release any official information regarding the new version. From the various spy images of the Mercedes SLS AMG roadster it's clear it will have a soft-top and will keep the general design lines of the Gullwing. However, the Gullwing doors will be dropped, obviously. Recent rumors say the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster debut will take place at the Frankfurt auto show next year.
The Mercedes SLS AMG roadster will have the same powertrain as the coupe version. This means the power will come from the 6.3-liter engine developing 571 hp. The top speed will probably be bit lower than the 300 km/h of the coupe.
The same goes for the 0-100 km/h acceleration time, due to the extra weight added by the removal of the rigid roof. The Mercedes SLS AMG roadster price is expected to be around the 200,000 EUR mark.
