In a new publicity stunt, Mercedes USA took one tennis superstar, Roger Federer, and one supercar, the SLS AMG Roadster, and put them both in a new commercial. Federer got the exclusive chance of driving the new SLS AMG Roadster, even before the car goes on sale. From the looks of things, the tennis player was quite impressed by the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster. He drove on public streets and on the open road. Mercedes made it look like they even took Federer to drive SLS Roadster in the desert.
Just like its Gullwing brother, the Mercedes SLS Roadster is powered by AMG's 6.3 liter engine that sends 571 hp and 650 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The SLS Roadster features a canvas top than can be opened at speeds of up to
50 km/h. In terms of performance, the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 317 km/h.
