Mercedes launched this week the first commercial for the new roadster version of the SLS AMG. The promotional clip presents the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster on the race track, and even though you can't really hear the glorious sound of its V8, it does provide some amazing views. Priced at just under 200,000 EUR, the SLS Roadster is powered by the same Mercedes AMG engine as the gullwing coupe. The main visual difference between the two is that the Mercedes SLS Roadster lacks the dramatic vertical opening doors of the gullwing. Instead is has a canvas top, that opens in 11 seconds, and regular doors.
The Mercedes SLS Roadster develops 563 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque from a 6.3-liter V8 engine coupled with a seven-speed, fast shifting, dual clutch
transmission. Mercedes says in their official statement that the roadster SLS AMG can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds.
