One of today's rumors say the German sports car maker is considering a successor for the Carrera GT in the form of a street legal version of the Porsche RS Spyder. The road legal version of the Porsche RS Spyder, that's currently winning races in the American LeMans Series, will feature the same carbon fiber chassis and the same engine. The Porsche RS Spyder is powered by a 3.4 liter V8 unit that's good for 478 hp and weighs 775 kg.
The Porsche RS Spyder is 2 meters wide and 4.6 meters long and will probably spawn a two-seat street version. The production version of the Porsche RS Spyder will weigh more than the current race car, which could mean the manufacturer could also raise the power output to maintain a promising power-to-weight ratio.
There's no official confirmation on the rumor of a street version of the Porsche RS Spyder.
