Tata Motors is planning to bring the widely regarded world's cheapest car, the Tata Nano, on the US market within two years. The two year time is required for the company to bring the Tata Nano to the emission and safety standards of the Unite states market.
The company is expected to sell in the US the European version of the Tata Nano which is priced around 2,300 USD.
The Tata Nano is a four-seater which is said to offer a 65 mpg fuel economy from a 2-cylinder 624 cc petrol engine that develops 33 hp. Some of the options of the Tata Nano include climate control and fog lights.
If the rumor is true, we can expect the Tata Nano hitting the US showrooms by 2011.
