We bet you're really wondering right now what's a Volkswagen Golf24. The Volkswagen Golf24 is VW's new racer which will compete this year in the Nurburgring 24-Hour race. Yup! The 'Green Hell' will be taken by storm by this menacing looking beast. And when we say beast we really mean it. The Volkswagen Golf24 has a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine that develops 324 kW (440 hp) and 540 Nm. Apart from having mountains of power for its size and weight, the Volkswagen Golf24 is also equipped with permanent four-wheel drive and a sequential six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters.

The Nurburgring 24 Hour race will take place in June, and until then, the Volkswagen Golf24 will undergo an extensive testing schedule.

The Volkswagen Golf24 was tested for the first time back in December. How come nobody managed to catch on camera?

The racing debut of the Volkswagen Golf24 will take place in the Endurance Championship on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife.

"With the new Golf24 we are continuing our successful commitment at the Nurburgring 24-hour race.

The event enjoys huge popularity, is one of the true classics in motorsport and, due to its extreme distance and unique race track, also represents a very big technical challenge,” says Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. "With our spectacular Golf we want to provide an additional highlight in front of a large audience – right in time for the 35th anniversary of the GTI.”
