BMW announced today the launch of the HRS Send to Car service, that's integrated in the BMW Assist. The BMW HRS Send to Car service offers the possibility to get the address of a hotel room, booked through the online portal HRS - Hotel Reservation Service, transferred from your computer directly to the car. The BMW HRS Send to Car system then lets you access the address and the telephone number in the car.

With the new "HRS Send to Car" service, driving a BMW offers even greater comfort. From now on, BMW Assist customers can have the address data of a hotel room booked through the online portal HRS - Hotel Reservation Service transferred from their own computer directly to the car. This can be done by the driver or by an authorised person. Both the address and telephone number can then be accessed in the vehicle under the menu item "My Info" and, if desired, it can be directly fed into
the navigation system or mobile phone.
"HRS Send to Car" supplements the "My Info" service and is available to customers on the HRS website www.HRS.de once a hotel booking has been placed, as well as in the HRS confirmation e-mail. In order to able to make use of this service, BMW Assist customers simply select the link "To the destination with HRS" and enter their personal user name. In the car, the address data can then be accessed under "My Info" in the BMW Assist menu. At the press of a button the details are fed directly into the navigation system. What is more, the telephone number
displayed can be dialled directly. This means that the address no longer has to be manually entered in the navigation system, nor is there any laborious search for the correct telephone number should it be necessary to call the hotel.
This works as for the existing function "Google Send to Car" by which addresses can be searched in Google Maps on the internet and then sent directly to the vehicle. BMW Assist is a service which forms part of BMW ConnectedDrive.
Whether it be current traffic information, e-mails or telephone directory services: BMW ConnectedDrive gives the driver of a BMW individually tailored support whenever it is required. The use of BMW Assist and BMW Online is free for up three years in Germany, for example, depending on the navigation system selected: three years for the Professional navigation system with telephone and six months for all other platforms in conjunction with a telephone. After this period, the flat rate for all BMW Assist and BMW Online services is 250 EUR per year. For customers who own cars which only support BMW Assist, the annual fee is 175 EUR. There are no other use-related connection charges - these are all included in the basic fee, as for a flat rate.
About BMW ConnectedDrive
Individual online, assistance and service systems in the vehicle are combined by BMW under the generic term ConnectedDrive. This refers to services which can be used directly via the navigation system or telephone and which thus significantly increase comfort and safety. For example with BMW Assist, which offers a personal information service in addition to emergency call functions and up-to-the-minute traffic information. Details of restaurants, cinemas and hotels can be fed directly into the navigation system. Internet-based services such as news, weather reports, Google Local Search or even vacant parking spaces are referred to as BMW Online.
