Mazda announced today that the world debut of the new CX3 is going to take place at the 2014 LA Auto Show, on November 21. The Mazda CX3 is going to be a compact crossover SUV that's going to sit just below the CX5 and the CX9. According to the official specs, the Mazda CX3 is the fifth vehicle in the Japanese carmaker's line-up to feature the full range of SKYACTIV technologies. As you're probably imagining, the Mazda CX3's design follows the line of the company's KODO—Soul of Motion design language. Apparently, the Mazda CX3 is going to be based on the Mazda2. This means that it could adopt any of the Mazda2's engines. This means that Mazda CX3's specs could include the 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine (with 75 PS / 135 Nm or 90 PS / 148 Nm), the 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G i-ELOOP engine with 115 PS / 148 Nm and the 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel powertrain with 105 PS / 220 Nm.
